Gasper Designers Curate a Collection with Timeless Style
There are thousands of different combinations of furniture, fabrics, colors and accessories available to make your outdoor space, truly your own. In fact, “You can go wherever your imagination takes you,” is how Gasper resident Exterior Designer, Eli Hymer likes to put it. For most of us, all those choices can be a bit overwhelming, which is why it is important to have a trusted guide like Eli and the other Exterior Designers at the Apollo Award Winning Exterior Furnishing Gallery at Gasper to help you navigate the options. Our featured project homeowners, John & Michelle F. had made an appointment with Eli after the completion of their latest outdoor project, a new Gasper-built pavilion, cast stone veneered bar & cooking area and a concrete paver patio expansion of their pool area which had been built earlier in the year by Gasper Landscape Design and Construction. “We went to Gasper’s because we were very happy with the outside project. Gasper had become a trusted partner for us.” explains John.
Eli recalls that from the start Michelle and John were very cooperative and open to different choices of color and material when they came in for their furniture consultation. Together, they looked at plans of the newly created space and the style of the house, since it is so important that the furniture be copasetic with the house style. They ultimately decided to go with transitional styled pieces which are a combination of traditional and contemporary styles. The transitional style is a timeless style that will still be relevant in 10 years with its fresh, clean lines. “Eli called them ‘lifetime pieces’. The quality of the furniture is excellent and I know that we will not have to buy any more furniture in the future.” shares Michelle.
Michelle and John love to use their outdoor space and the large outdoor television to watch sports (Their favorites are football and hockey) so comfort was equally important when selecting the seating. “When working with a TV, it will always be the focal point and as a designer you have to work around it. Everybody wants to see the TV,” Eli wisely advised. And so for ultimate comfortable viewing, he suggested the Delray sofa by Klaussner Outdoor and paired it with two high back, swivel chairs (Sierra, also by Klaussner Outdoor). All the frames are constructed of a polymer material, called Realisteak which is meant to mimic real teak, and is very heavy and durable. Because the chairs rock and swivel, it makes them particularly relaxing to sit back in and kick up your feet.
Michelle loves the high back chairs and sofa, but probably her favorite addition is the fire table. “It is nice to have people and neighbors over around the fire table.” she remarks. John adds, “Since the quarantine, everyone has to be outside, but we are still comfortable. We are able to relax, social distance and still be able to socialize. We love having our grandkids and children over.”
“We made it theirs, we made it for them”, Eli says reflecting back on his work with Michelle and John. “Everything has a purpose, everything has a reason …everything tells a story”. Now what story can Gasper Landscape & Design help your outdoor space have to tell?
